Is RCM applicable on hiring a studio for 48 hours in another state?

We hired a studio for a video shoot for 48 hours in another state. The invoice given by the studio is without GST as they are unregistered. Would this come under the purview of RCM? Is this classed as a service?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) applies when hiring a studio for 48 hours in another state, especially when the provider is unregistered for GST. The consensus is that if the studio hire includes technicians, it falls under forward charge, and the unregistered provider means no GST is involved in this specific scenario. RCM generally doesn't apply to unregistered suppliers unless it's a specific, listed exception.

Dear Reena,

If you have hired studio services including technicians, not liable under RCM. The provider has to charge under forward charge. Even studio services relating to dubbing (indoor) , such service also falls under forwards charge.

Thanks for your reply. So if the studio provider is not registered for GST, there is no GST involved, right?
