29 January 2013- I would like to know applicability of VAT on sale of Medicine by Hospital to its inpatient for treament & Outpatients. Is hospital laible to VAT in maharashtra.
- Also how the Input will be calculated on purchase of such medicine.

Dear Amer
Your query is interesting. VAT on medicines are included in the MRP so the price one pays for the medicine is inclusive of VAT so Retial Invoices are issued. Now coming to the question of VAT Input Credit. Input Credit is available to a reseller registered under the VAT Act. It is not available to the end customer.

I would like to go with the same answer that Input tax credit available to whole seller & not to the patient.
