GST threshold limit for service providers Rs.20 lakhs. When your overall receipts cross this limit. You are required to register under GST.

If you are rendering service through E-commerce Operators, GST registration is mandatory less than 20 lakhs.

As you said your expected revenue Rs.5 lakhs per annum. Threshold limit is applied on your gross receipts not net profit.

If i render services from my own website only. For Example if i offer return filing services all over india basis and take payment by bank transfer or upi.

(the amount i will pay to google/facebook is to advertise my own website only)

1. Will i be considered as e-commerce operator

2. Will i be considered as casual tax payer.

Will 20 lakh exemption for interstate supply of services apply in above case?

1) Service providing through own portal will not consider as an E-commerce. You don't to register under GST.

2) No casual trader.

3) as above all questions you asked it is applicable for only Goods. Not for services.

4) when your consolidated gross receipts cross 20 lakhs per annum. You are required to register under GST. Otherwise, you don't need to register.

Yes gst Registration reqd
No registration required as the turnover is below 20 lakhs in case of service provider. You can also made interstate supplies.

What  does it mean? i have operate on very slim margin and paying 18% will make this business nonviable for me . So please i want clear answer weather registration required in above case or not. From above thread it seems  2 members are saying no while 1 saying required. Please add your input if you are reading this thread and have knowledge of same matter.

The below persons and business owners need to register themselves irrespective of their turnover value. The list is as below:

Persons making any inter-state taxable supply.

Persons who are required to pay tax under reverse charge

Every business owner or individual who is involved in electronic commerce operators

Non-resident business owners who want to transact within India for any supply of goods or services.

Input service distributor

Individual or business owners involved in the supply of online information.

Exporters

If you are not from any one of the above and turnover is less than 20 lakhs you are not required to get registered under GST
In the present case registration is not required. But if you have any other income in the form of supply and the total exceeds 20 lakhs in a financial year then registration will be required.
