I recieved an Income tax intimation under section 245 for adjustment of outstanding tax with refund. I know it must be respoded within 30 days of recieving notice but it is only after 40 days I have seen the notice. Income tax outstanding demand seems to be correct but not responded within 30 days. Will Income tax department automatically adjust the demand against the refund if not respoded within 30 days?Plz help.

Yes if demand is correct then refund from succeeding years will be utilize to compensate for short fall of previous years. this will be done by sending notice u/s 245. If you dont reply automatically refund will be adjusted for that year.
