my client has forgot to claim loss from house property (int. on housing loan) while filing return for assessment year 2009-2010.return was filed within due date.He has received intimation U/S 143 (1).Now can he file application for rctification U/S 154 to claim the loss and get the refund ????

2009-10, that means u had option to revise the return upto 31-03-2010 which is passed,
share the date of 143(1), if 30 days has not been passed then file rectification u/s 154
you may go for appeal to get it allowed, but before it, check carefully the admissibality of house property loss documents.
