Sub: Intimation and Clarification Regarding Interest and Date Discrepancy in TDS Return

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is to inform you that upon reviewing the TDS statement filed for [Quarter/Financial Year], it has come to our notice that:

  • There is an interest liability shown under Section [201(1A)] in the TDS CPC portal.

  • The demand appears to have arisen due to delay in deposit of TDS / incorrect date of deduction/depositmentioned in the return for certain entries.

We acknowledge that the interest may have arisen due to:

  • [Late deposit of TDS] – deposited beyond the due date under Rule 30 of the Income Tax Rules.
    OR

  • [Clerical error] – in the date of deduction/deposit mentioned in the return, although the actual payment was made on time.

Action Taken:

We have:

  1. Paid the applicable interest amounting to ₹[amount] on [payment date] via challan [challan number].

  2. Filed correction return to rectify the date entries (if applicable).

  3. Ensured internal checks are improved to prevent recurrence.

Request:

We request you to kindly take the above into consideration and update the TDS CPC records accordingly. If any further clarification or documentation is required, we shall be happy to provide the same.

Thank you for your attention.

Yours sincerely,
[Authorized Signatory]
[Designation]
[Company Name / TAN Holder Name]
[Signature & Stamp]
