hello
I have cleared group 1 of CA FINAL and have given group 2 exam in may 2016 and hoping for the positive results..hence as I am interested in investment banking and want to join organisation like duestche bank or HSBC such kind..but I have done my Articleship from a small firm where they had no such work ...and hence I would like to know do such organisation hire people who are CA but have done Articleship from small firms or do they hire only big 4 candidates??
and what type of questions are generally asked in technical round in case of investment banking organisation??

Articleship from small firms : Absolutely No; big 4 candidates : No.

They don't hire fresh CA's at all. Even if you are AIR 1 in CA Finals, then also you will be seen inferior to any IIM/ISB pass out.
Investment Banks never came to ICAI campus placements and be assured they will not come to ICAI for like next 50 years.

You have 2 options now :
1. Clear CA Finals> Join a Multinational Company or Big 4> Do CFA + MA Economics from IGNOU and then move to Investment Banking.
Or
2. Clear CA Finals> Join a Multinational Company or Big 4 > Do MBA from IIM or ISB + MA Economics from IGNOU> Get into Investment Banking through campus placement.

Best Wishes !

Mr Hammad has explained in a detailed way as he does usually.I would also like to give my two cents.

I had read a similar question on quora to which Mr Sagar answered in this way:
CAs are never considered for investment banking roles.Only MBAs from premier B-schools.Only a CA who is a ranker can be considered for an interview.

I like 2nd option given by CA Hammad.I don't understand CA students obsession with investment banking roles in an underdeveloped country and ICAI's delusional opinion about CAs being complete business solution provider
