dividend is an option board of directors .if they deside to pay dividend it shall become mandatory to pay the dividend with in 30 of diclaration .this provision also applies to interim dividend .because dividend includes interim dividend
importent point is interim dividend should diclare only out of profits after deducting DEPRICIATON FOR WHOLE YEAR even though the interim dividend is diclaring in midle of the year.
