I am trader having GST no now I have purchased a commercial complex for giving it on rent and paid gst at time of purchase can I avail the input tax which I paid at the time of purchase of complex.

Yes u may avail Input Tax Credit.

no gst on purchase of immovable property is not eligible for itc

ITC is not available for this unless you are a builder or a construction work person

There are 2 Condition while purchasing Immovable property

1. If u have made agreement to purchase during the Construction of property the builder is liable to collect GST but the you cannot take ITC for the same as it is block under section 17(5)

2. Sale of building is an activity or consideration which is neither a supply of goods nor a supply of services (Para 5 of schedule III of the CGST Act, 2017).

Either of conditions mentioned above , you are not supposed to take ITC , or there is No GST applicable ,..
