I am pursuing my C.A articleship from last 1 & 1/2 year. But the work here seems to be monotonus, so i want to pursue Industrial Training in a well known Gurgaon based company.

1. Is it beneficial 4 me as i want to do job after completing C.A ?

2. Can my principal refuse me from doing so ?

3. Is it worthy of delaying attempt for Industrial Training?

if work in CA Firm doesnt add any value then it is always beneficial to switch to industrial training..........

Dear Sahil, Sagar and Karthik,

1.  Yes, Industrail training can be beneficial.  However, the usefulness in terms of opening of different career options etc totally depends on what sort of work profile is being offered to you during the industrial training.

2.  No, your principal cannot deny you the transfer for industrial training.  However, as per ICAI regulations, you are required to convey to your principak, your desire to go for industrial training three months in advance.

3.  Honestly, delaying an attempt is not a good option.  But then what are the guarantees that you will be able to clear the earliest possible attempt?  Therefore, you need to rationalize between the desire to learn more during your articleship period and to become CA at the earliest.  I personally know many CAs who did industrial training and cleared the finals in the first attempt too!

will the industries hav the liability to provide leave for 3 months for exams ??? (which will be given at a Ca firm )

Hi karthik,

There is nothing called liability when it comes to sanctioning leave for CA final.  This is a matter for which you need to seek clarification from the Company before starting the Industrial trainings.  As such Big 4 CA firms do allow leave for CA finals during industrial training.  I was with Ernst & Young and got 3.5 months leave.

Suppose if we start industrial training in last year of training & we have to give our final attempt in next 6 months for which we require 3 months off? I dont think the industrial trainer will prefer so.

Sahil,

AS a replied to Karthik, this is one issue you need to discuss with the company before starting the industrial training.

The Industries are at complete liberty to allow as much leave as they wish. All rules applicable for artivlship are same to same applicable to Industrial training. The only thing is The company should agree to allow you 3 months leave and further your industrial training completion date would be extended and consequently you would have to serve the extension period.

please help me........

How to obtain No Objection certificte from ICAI for industrial training.

is there any such practice of NOC from ICAI?

Its urgent

Thanks In Advance

Why ? There is absolutely no need to obtain NOC from ICAI. Instead , u just have to intimate ICAI.

There is no NOC required for Industrial Training. The Industry should be registered with ICAI. Sopy of Form 109 filed for earlier Principal would easily substantiate your eligibility.

I had under gone Industrial Training from a listed company.

There is no such requirement.

Since u have done industrial training. Do u think it was beneficial for u ???

Well, It is a subjective question. It would depend on circumstances and options in your hand. If you are working with a good CA firm then you would gain more knowledge than Industrial training but In case you are not getting proper exposure in your articlship then IND TRNG is a good bet.

Further, it depends on your choice... If you are willing to start your own practice then IND TRNG may not help but If you are willing to join Industry latter on when you qualify then IND TRNG definately is helpful.
