Indian Tax Rates - Better than other countries or not?

Guys,

These were some of the questions thrown to me in an Inteview recenty for Articleship in the Direct Tax Dept in a reputed firm. The questions were:

1. Do you want to make changes in the existing Tax system or do you think no changes should be made. If you want to make some changes tell as in what and why you would want to make such changes?

2. Are the Indian Tax rates at par with other countries? Or are the tax rates of US, UK better off than India.

What do you think are the best answers for these questions..

Dear Mohit 

Answer to ur 1St question will differ from person to person........as some people like changes if it is favourable  to him and vice versa................

But i really need an answer to that... Ok if somebody had interviewd you, then what is the best answer you would have given to the first question. :)
