Incorrectly filed return for deceased father

Hello this is my first post. My father passed away on 20/06/2020. He was a pensioner and was efiling income tax return every year. After his death, I registered as legal heir on the IT portal and efiled his return for FY 2019-20 as his representative assessed (legal heir). I think that was a mistake because it appears I should have filed the last return (for the period 01/04/2020 to 20/06/2020) as representative assess and not for FY 2019-20. Now, the IT portal does not offer me the option of filing as representative assessee.

My father has pension of about 4 lakh from 01/04/2020 to 20/06/2020. I cannot file on his behalf and I cannot club this income with my own because it is pre-death. What do I do? Will be grateful for any guidance.

Quick Summary
A user mistakenly filed their deceased father's tax return for the incorrect financial year. They registered as a legal heir and filed for FY 2019-20, but now realise the last return, covering 01/04/2020 to 20/06/2020, should have been filed as a representative assessee. The IT portal no longer offers this option, and the user is unsure how to proceed with filing the income earned before their father's death. Guidance is sought on how to correctly file the outstanding returns.

As per my view
your father demised on 20/6/2020
so ,
return for 1/4/2019 to 31/3/2020 has to be filed
next,
for period 1/4/2020 to 31/3/2021 has to be filed
Since your father demised on 20/6/2020,
it will be legal heir, who will file

You will be filing 2 years return as legal hier after your fathers demise, i.e. for FY 2019-20 & next year FY 20-21.
