Incomplete form 16 at IT Dept

Hello,

This AY while the employer issued me correct Form 16, lot of data was missing at the IT end. I don’t know why. As a result during IT return filing the system kept on warning me that the data does not match Form 16 available with IT.

The pre-filled data did not have salary details in the first place which is surprising!

I went ahead and filed the return exactly as per the issued form 16.

Now what kind of intimation I can expect?
Will there be a provision by IT dept to allow me to share the form 16 so that they get convinced that my return is correct?

I am yet to receive the intimation but I know the IT will not simply process my return, they will find mismatch in it!!

Check your AIS report. Whether it matches with form 16 data.

Form 16 is correct. AIS does not have all details, that's how IT says it does not match.

But that's not my outlook. I should go by Form 16 only. If form 16 says I have been paid say 5 Lakh INR as salary, that's what I report in my ITR. Missing info in AIS is out of my scope.

Also Form 16 was received in July, so no much time to report inconsistency to IT when 31-Jul is last date.

So what kind of intimation I now can expect to receive and how to I report correct form 16 to IT, that's what the question is about.
