One of my client has not filed ITR for past 10 years, I want to know whether he is eligible for refund if he files income tax return for those 10 years in the AY 14-15

Income tax return cannot be file after 2 years from the end of the relevant financial year. So, in my view he can claim refund only for FY 2013 & 2014.

First of all you can only file a return for the past two AY.
secondly, you can file a return of any further AY's if & only if the AO asks so, i.e. your case opens for any previous AY.

itr for last 2yrs can only be filed now.... if you wish to file return of remaining 8 yrs, then you can do so only in response to notice under sec 142(1) issued by AO. so ask your AO to first issue such notice, then you can file return for those 8 yrs.

In that case will there be compulsory filing of physical returns for past 8 years in response to 142(1) notice or online uploading can be done too.

i think there is a menu where you can file return online against notice of 142(1)... but i cant say how many years return can be uploaded there..
