Income tax refund

Write a Letter to the CPC giving the New Address. If you want to get the Refund through ECS then provide the Bank details ie. Bank Name, Branch and MICR Code in the Letter. Also attach a cancelled cheque along with the Letter.

First chcek whether the refund is issued or not through the refund status option in income tax website....

after that if you find that refund has not been issued ... then first update the new address in the income tax web site.. my altering the profile address of the asseesee...

if you find that refund has been issued in that case... since the address has been changed refund chque would have been returned back to department... so you need send all the particulars of the assessee

Bank A/c No.

MICR Code...

and a cancled cheque...

Agreed with Mr Satish..,  but now you can request for reissue of refund by logging in IT website., using assessee's user id & pwd.,

we have an option to request re-issue of refund to new address., u can even change the bank details.

But before that contact cpc call centre once. 

Devendra is right. you can download Refund claim form from the efilling site and fill in the same manner as wrote by devendra and send it to bengaluru with all bank account details (viz. bank name, address, MICR code, account no., account type) with new address. u will get the refund through cheque or ECS.

u can send request for re-issue of refund online

Same situation was with my wife's return. She went to ITO and update her Address to his ward officer and re-request for refund. Then within 15 days, we got cheque of ITR Refund at our new address.

Hey saurav, I got a new manner for re issuence of refund. Log in to the efiling site. in the menu of My Accounts, u ll find a option REFUND REISSUE REQUEST. from there u can apply for the re- issuence of refund, whether in ECS form or in Cheque form. it will simplified your procedure for the same.

Mr. Amit Singhal, it is possible only in two cases, when u have filed ur return manually, or ur case has been transferred to ur jurisdictional AO.
