There was a problem with the income tax return filed by my father for assessment year 2017-18 and he got a section 143 reply from the income tax department. He forgot to enter the advance tax that he paid while filing for the income tax return form ITR-1. He used the paper based filing as he is a senior citizen and paper based filing was allowed at the time.
After seeing the details of section 143, I realized the mistake and filed income tax rectification online on 20th July 2018. However, the rectification form has not been processed and therefore the refund is still pending till date. I have tried filing grievance online a number of times, but I get a standard reply that it is under processing and we are supposed to wait.
Can anyone please suggest what can be done in this case to get this case closed and refund processed?
