ONE OF MY FRIEND WANTS TO FILE HIS IT RETURN FOR A.Y 10-11. BUT THE THING IS THAT HE DOES NOT HAVE ANY SOURCE OF INCOME. WHAT INCOME CAN I SHOW SO THAT I CAN FILE HIS RETURN? HE HAS A SAVING BANK A/C BUT THE INTEREST RECEIVED IS VERY LESS. WHAT SOURCE OF INCOME SHOULD I SHOW?

Show correct income which assess earned whether it is very less from bank a/c because for A.Y. 10-11 scrutiny of assessment is applicable..
u can file the retun by showing INCOME FROM TUITIONS u/h other sources.
in scrutiny assessment it will be easy 2 prove !!
and by the way such small income cases dont occur in scrutiny !!
anything can possible from Income tax dept. side perhaps you dont know that scrutiny is applicable for individuals for the A.Y. 2010-11
my friend, you need not to file tax return if you have no income for the complete financial year.
i think if u want to file return than u can file by showing interest from bank on saving a/c whether it is less or more under the head "other source"
there is another option for nill return.
