Income tax notice for itr2 schedule s not matching form 26as

Dear All, I have received income tax intimation under section 143 (1)(a) to agree/disagree with discrepency of 15000 Rs. (for medical reimbusement amount) that my return files using ITR2 section Schedule S is not matching with Form 26AS total amount paid by my employer to me. This difference is due to Medical Reimbusement given to me by my employer under section 17 (2). I could not find where I can declare it in ITR2. So I reported the total salary amount including point no 1, 2, 3 and 6 (total of 1,2,3) excluding medical reimbursement.  In point 7 Allowances exempt under section 10 I have given in sub point iv. Other allowances : 19200 which is conveyance allowance exempted under section 10. There is not separate indication in Form 16 share by employer to me of medical reimbursement, Employer also has not shown it in break up anywhere in part B of Form 16 but part A total amount paid includes it. Only in salary sliip of March 2017 this amount is reflected under head Medical Reimbursement.

So my question is can I show it in my revised return if any section is there in ITR2 to reflect it (If yes, Please tell me where in ITR2 I can show this medical reimbursement amount of 15000)  or I should give response to this on IT department e filing portal attaching my form 16 as well as payslip and explain the difference.

Thanks in advance for your early reply and appreciate the help provided.

No medical reimbursement is shown in allowances i.e. other allowances. you can submit your response to notice and the query will be solved
Thanks Nitesh for the reply. Do you mean to say that medical reimbursement can be shown under section 10 column iv other allowances?

Dear

Please note 26AS shows income before section 10 exemption.

Accordingly the tax department is matching the income (in 26AS) with the very first entry of your salary schedule in return.

Need to revise.

Thanks Puran for your reply. What you said is correct. But my problem is that I could no find in ITR2 form where I can show my tax exempt income of 15000 rs. Medical reimbursement. So I show the salary including it, it will also be counted in taxable income.
