Is it possible to get the information of Income tax payments or return of an Individual under RTI.

No, information of an individual which has no relation with public interest or public activity cannot be demanded through RTI.
Case No.-CIC/AT/A/2006/00646 21/02/07, Name of Applicant- Neeru Bajaj Lucknow,
Details asked for-IT Returns of another person,
Decision of CIC- The applicant was engaged in a court proceeding against the third party whose information was being sought. Giving information would mean derailing the purpose for which the RTI act was enacted .The CIC clearly held that the information sought is personal in nature and there is no public interest that is served by its disclosure.
Decisions given before October 2007.
