Income tax from mcx/ncdex commodity trading

I am an individual and have been investing in FnO in equities and commodities segment. Would request experts to pl explain on

  1. Income tax rates and calculation from profits in commodity trading on MCX/NCDEX?
  2. Last year I carried forward losses from Equity derivative segment on NSE. Is it possible to set-off losses from equity derivative segment with commodity derivatives?

Thanks in advance

F& O transaction carried out with MCX will be treated as non-speculative wheraes done with NCDEX , will be speculative.

On both the transactions, tax will be applicable at the normal slab rate applicable to that individual.

Yes, brought forward speculative loss og equity derivative segment, can be set off against the transactions carried out on NCDEX.

Thanks

but another query is that in which head of income ,profit form this source consider?

It will be shown under "Profit & Gains from Business".
