Quick Summary
This discussion explores the tax implications of ex-gratia salary payments made to a deceased employee's spouse, often continuing for several years or until a certain age. The core question is whether these payments are tax-exempt under specific sections of income tax law, or if they are considered taxable income like a family pension. Clarification is sought on the exact nature of these payments and relevant tax legislation.

Please clarify. Is that salary or pension which the spouse is entitled after the death of emoloyee??
