Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the tax applicability when transferring a significant amount from a Swedish bank account to an Indian savings account. The consensus is that the transfer itself is generally tax-free in India, provided taxes have been paid according to Swedish law. It also touches upon the types of Indian bank accounts suitable for such transfers, mentioning NRE and NRO accounts.

She can transfer it to her Indian bank account, NRE as well as NRO, without any tax liability as per Indian Income tax act, but she should have paid her tax liability as per Swedish tax laws.

Thank you sir,

please also tell me what is NRE & NRO
