Income as per form 26as which has not been included in computing the total income in the return

Hello,

Today I got intimation from intimations @ cpc.gov.in that "There is inconsistency between Other Source income in return and Form 26AS".

They have mentioned Amount paid/credited as per Form 26AS is: 59759

but when I see form 26AS form, it says that Total Amount Paid / Credited is: 121709.00.

I am not sure while refiling the ITR what amount should I put in other sources.

Note: I don't have any income from salary.

Hi,

Ideally, the amount mentioned in Form 26AS should be taken and reflected in the Income Tax Return. You need to ensure that you have mentioned the exact amount in the ITR as consistent with Form 26AS.

Also, it might happen that your 26AS is revised later by the Deductor. So you can refer to the latest Form 26AS by downloading it again from the IT website.

You can also match the amount reflected in Form 26AS with the amounts reflected in the Bank Statement which will make sure that you report the correct amount.

If still there seems to be inconsistency, then in reply to the intimation, you can reply your concern and attach the Form 26AS wich reflects the correct amount.
