Inadvertently filled and filed Form 10-IEA like last year

I have inadvertently filled and filed Form 10-IEA for current AY like last year, though i am not required to fill this year and there is no change ie i still continue to opt out of new tax regime.

As soon as i enter last year's Form 10 IEA number and date, the relevant fields for AY25-26 turns protected and I am unable to upload IT3 return for this current AY since the portal is asking for filing date and acknowledgement number of 10-IEA form at the last stage of submitting the return.

attached the screen shot

I am stuck here. Help please

You have done mistake by filling Form 10IEA this year. Once filed you cannot revert it. Now you will have to file return under NEW regime only. No other option.

thanks for the response, sir.

i have not opted for any change, just filled the same old tax regime for current ay. since i have to fill the AY 24-25 fields, the utility fields for current ay is grey(protected) and could not enter current AY 10IEA details. validation, tax caluculation, creating jason file etc are smooth. but once i upload the jason, the portal refuses to accept and ask me to enter currentAY 10IEA details.

i saw also a provison next line to enter 10IEA details saying, enter details if you submitted last year details after due date, which is unprotected field. Since i had submitted before due date last year, i do not know, whether i can use this. and if yes, whether there will be any implications on last year returns, which is assessed and got refund.

Would appreciate your opininon

No. It will not affect last year's ITR.

From last year's ITR you can get the details of the form 10IEA filed.

Dhirajlal sir

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply
