In search of a GO

Others 780 views 1 replies

Hello !!!

I have been searching for a Government Order relating to relief of TDS on Income earned by an ex-servicemen of defence.

The scenario is that, no TDS was being deducted on the income that the assessee has been earning for last 20 years. This is due to a Government Order which the assessee's superior has provided to the organisation. However, the organisation in which he has been working has started deducting tax at source out of his salary from the month of January. The assessee is however unable to provide the Government Order to the organisation.

The assessee and the organisation referred in the aforesaid scenario is an ex-servicemen of defence and a bank.

Kindly, let me know if there is any such Government order or any other rule which can help the assessee to get a relief from deduction of tax at source as I was unable to find any such GO and so thought of resorting the forum.

Thank You.

I think there is no such Government order or rule, but you can claim refund of TDS deducted.
