The council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at its meeting held on 13th January 2010, has decided to require the members to ensure that the resolution passed by the companies in respect of appointment of statutory auditors (board resolution or AGM resolution) of the company shall contain the REGISTRATION NUMBER of the firm of the auditors. Further the audit firms are also required to mention their Registration Number (in addition to Membership Number of Auditor concerned) while signing the Audit Report and Annual Accounts of companies.
Accordingly all the CA firms are required to inform their REGISTRATION NUMBER to their corporate clients / companies to enable them to comply with these requirements.
