dear colleagues,
ek client hai jinhe 1.50 lac HRA received hua hai... or unhone actual 1,92,000/- rent pay kiya hai... toh unhe kitna deduction milega... isme ek confusion mera ye hai ki mere client ne rent apni mother ko hi pay kiya hai... or unki mother ne rental income apne itr me show kr rkhi hai.. toh kya ye sahi practice hai???

1) Rent paid over 10% of Pay + DA
2) Actual HRA received
3) 40% of Pay + DA (50% if metro city)
whichever less is eligible for HRA.

Yes Rent payment to mother is acceptable provided that property belongs to the mother and also prepare tenant and landlord agreement.
Yeah sure procedure is correct
Ok sir thanks.. 13 lac approx (pay + Da ) hai toh option 1.) hi correct rhega hai na... mtlb itna claim kr skte hai HRA? correct???
You should compute by the formula above

Yes, you can compute exemption as per option 1, as that would be the least in this case.

Chill dude. its not a problem if your mother doesnt show such rent receipts in her itr. and there is no requirement for any rent agreement.
Ohhk thanks to all
