Confusion regarding service tax rate 14% or 14.5% in paper one place it is given 14.5%
Even i had the same doubt. I have stuck myself to 14.5% for entire paper.
Rest of the paper is very friendly
there were no questions from salary hp and capital gains....strange

I messed up a lot I think. Seems like it's just me who found it tough :( Toughest so far. Or maybe I didn't put enough efforts even though this was the subject I devoted maximum time to.
I think in 14.5%, 0.5% is extra collection which he has to remit first and adjust in subsequent months. The whole question is about valuation rite? This could be one way of answer.
14.5% is w.e.f 15/11/15 so see the date then apply the rate earlier it was 14% w.e.f 1/6/15 rest is 12.36%
