How to pay service tax with income below 10 lac?

Hi,

I have registered a proprietorship firm two months ago and have made an income of 22k (payment due). I had registered for service tax no. at the inception of firm. I know I am not liable to pay taxes, but since I have registered for service tax, how do I make payment (even if I need to fill 'NIL' while paying)?

sir you don't need to pay any service tax as you are exempt from paying ST but you may file return

Thank You for the prompt reply. But that's my question - How do I file return? What should be my entries while making e-payment?

return is different from e payment... u don't have to make e payment. just file half year return once on Oct 25th another on April 25th... in the return you have to mention exemption notification and show your income under exemption column

Dear Sir,

You are not required to pay service tax if your turnover in previous year is with in 10 lakhs. Please reply if any further clarifications are required.

Once you have got service tax registration number then it is compulsory to file service tax return even if it service tax is nil. ...you can file yourself also...very easy steps and visit www.ever.gov.in
