How to find person's details from PAN

You can not check the same provided you have pay the same and taken membership fee to NSDL. There is option to check the same.

 I know 2 codes inherent in the pan card.

1. 1st is the Status of the assessee can be known from the PAN no. by 4th letter of PAN no. if it is

P then status is Individual
F then status is Firm
C then status is company
A then status is AOP/BOI/Trust
J then status is Judicial Personal
H then status is HUF
T then AOP(Trust)
B then BOI
L then Local Authority
G then Govt.

2. 2nd code is that The 5th letter of the PAN card represents-

In case of Individual - the first letter of last name
In case of others - the first letter of first name.

they can tell you UTI, NSDL, Income Tax call center has software from which they can tell you in which name the PAN No. is alloted. 

you have to contect NSDL for same.....

When you pay taxes for  the concerned pan , you will have to confirm the name. So you can follow the same procedures for paying taxes online and once you get the name, abort payment.

hey first go to incometaxindia.gov.in......den procced to pay chaalan...den fill the basic information like pan no. n pin code where he resides..if u dnt know the pin code n city where the person resides, den put any fake adress. Then submit the form...n den the name of  the person having that pan will be displayed. Then just abort the form.

Visit the following link and feed the PAN numbr. Give some dummy name and address. Select any one bank (we use HDFC) and click proceed.

The name as it appears in IT records will appear in the next page. Its quite simple techinque which we discovered at our office.
