The 2020 budget introduced two tax regimes, impacting home loan tax exemptions. Under the new regime, while you can claim deductions for home loan interest under Section 24(b), you cannot offset losses from house property against other income. However, these losses can be carried forward to be set off against future house property income.
In new tax regime you can take deduction of interest on housing loan u/s 24(b) but you can not set off loss from HP from any other head you can carry forward that loss and if in future you have any income from HP then you can sett of your b/f loss against it
