Raghavendra, you cannot import or export without obtaining IEC (unless you are importing in some one else's name). And if you are importing without obtaining IEC, how will you show it as purchase, as there will be no VAT charged on it (except for SAD @ 4% which is refundable).

My advise, go legally, and first of all gather some capital for your business before rushing into business, gain some knowledge for the product, i.e the market for it, product avalibility and what is the legal procedure for that product's business, then only start your business as a proper flow.

Regards

thanks alot for replying me,

till now i imported for 80,000rs value products from china in this year. an average of 8000rs items per time, 10 consignment i imported. every time i paid 25% of import duty ( i know max import duty available according to custom rules that 25%). so even thought many products which i get are having less custom duty also. they increase value and put 25% something like that custom officer does it.

till date i was aware that i can import without IEC for below 25k value. but recent when i started to dig into it, understood only for personal use we can get it. no commercial value. no trade.

but as i got vat now, i wish to show these imported goods as commercial value. so i want to know can i continue to get it in same way without iec. and show it as for trade for sales tax?
