study materials and scanners are the best for exam point of view...however for practical subjects, 

taxation - V K Singhania for problems, Ahuja for theory

Accounts - tulsian is good.

It wud also be handy if u kept a case law file for the following 3 subjects for easy reference:

1. GCL

2. Company Law

3. Labour Laws

Also, you need to have the Companies Act, 1956 (Bare Act).

You can prefer Sangeet Kedia for GCL, Sec & Comp., Eco & Labour Law

For Company Law opt Sangeet Kedia as well as Deepak Gajrani.

I am also going to attempt 2nd Module in June'2011.

Also go with Labour Law contain 40 Marks,

Stock Exchange & Issue of Securities Contain Heavy weight in Sec & Comp.
