Well I disagree with everybody here who thinks that CA is losing its value. I think the demand of CA's is increasing and will keep on increasing. Just we have to be ready to work for that  and just gather 2 years experience in the industry/ area u want to expertise in.

Read my article in that I have elaborated what i mean

I really appreciate Mr. Sashank views.Bt at the same time i would also like to tell u that in last four attemts more than 50000 Ca's hv been passout where the total number of CA till now is 220000 after recent result. As far as hiring is conerns u kw the economic condition all accross the globend because of that  employment rate decline in a big way. Enterpreneureship is a diffrent matter all together as it's depends on the personal interest of the person . Well i hv quite a number of frnds who are CA bt still struggling to get the job .

Well for sure CA is not losing charm r8 now bt it's a alrming sign for the profession to  keep intact it's quality nd brand .

Hai folks,

The problem of unemployment or underemployment is in every field. This time even Infosys campus selected  students are waiting for joining order. You can also see the Medicine filed . Now a MBBS is just a degree with no value . They have to specialise and prove their mettle . Otherwise starters are paid a meagre salary though their profession has more demand and requires hard work.  So future CAS also should equip them and specilise in particular filed like GAAP, SYSTEM AUDIT, IFRS   to name a few.  Demand is always there for talent and experts.

CA profession is always reputed profession, if anybudy take CA degree that is only not enough he needs to be as a professionist, After taking a CA degree if anybudy is thinking that he cannot get job then he is the world's most negative thinker, CA is not only to get job if after becoming CA you are getting paid less don't need to be worry, you can open your own profession, work for some time collect money, open your own office, then you can earn better, if a B.com graduate guy can get 25k or more than 30k after 3-4 years of experience, then a CA can rock in his field, "DON'T WORRY FRIEND HARD WORK ALWAYS ROCK SOONER OR LATER BUT IT WILL GIVE YOU GOOD RESULT".

@ Shivsankari:

In case of CAs recruited by Infosys; they have already joined Infyy some time ago.Their first salary was Rs 61000/-  (cool)

It's a well known fact, many freshers dont want to opt for practise as a first choice; as setting it up requires fairly high expenditure as well some contacts to give u some earning. As ur family begins to expect money from you, freshers tend to opt for jobs.

Who says, people dont wanna go for Middle East.........but see this video, Mr Shashank...this video was for a campus recruiter which required minimum 10months per annum stay @ MEA.

See this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL3WDfsXfO4&feature=share

and this link in CCI:https://www.caclubindia.com/forum/shocking-video-from-ca-campus-placements-2012-sad-193183.asp#.UAmVhtl4W4A

Fresh CA wouldn't stay idle at home; but such people working for paltry sums is a matter of disgrace for all of us. Usually, many of such unfortunate people do opt for COP then, and start signing audit reports for others for Rs 500 (another well known fact)....

@ sushant: It is a normal tendency of freshers that before analysing the market, they rush for the campus and want to grab any job which available in the first instance.

The video is just a depiction of the fact that how desperate our freshers are. I bet half of them would not have tried earlier anywhere else before coming to the campus.

One more thing I would like to share with you. It is often seen that our candidates miss out on Basic Interview Questions. Last Year I interviewed around 15 Candidates from Various places. Atleast 12 were not able to answer a basic question properly - Tell me something about yourself. We lack confidence nothing else. Good Jobs are difficult to get, but not impossible. Dont put negative thoughts in the minds of aspirants and freshers. This is the reutation of this course which makes it as most desired profession in India.

In Simple, Only those candidates who passed in last three attempts, only they knw abt situation of unemployment/underemployment....Our future CAs and Seniors are not aware of situation..if they knw abt situation then they dont want to do accept that.... Shanshak u r saying that for 4 openings u got 200 CVs and u shortlisted 120 for four.....its automatically shown the situation right now in market of freshers.....shanshak tell me about ur company name and give ur company mail id i m ready to do work there for 15 lakhs(2 less)

and yeah in past there was result more than 20%..but apply aptitude..compare the students who appeared in the exams.....

in my opinion main reason behind the situation is more freshers and bad market..

And last plz dont take personally, if someone heart then a very biggg sorryyyyyyy

Freshers are always aggressive. They have this very innocent idea about the world. They think that their dreams of working in a reputable company could lead them to a better position. After they graduate they want to fulfill a lot of things but to their dismay, they realize that life outside school is tough. It's just then that things will sink in to them. And this is when unemployment and underemployment happens.

@ Shashank: That was the second day of Campus placement of Ahmedabad. The cos which had come on the first day hadn't shortlisted any 2nd/3rd attempt people; and added to that 20+ got job on the first day. Ahmedabad always has lots of freshers; and they got really desperate. Lemme share the fact, that when this Co Evosys had come for pre placement talk; only 2 people had raised hands to be interested in this co....Who would want to be working as a nomad.....who had to travel all across volatile (in terms of security) regions of Middle East......for almost 10 months a year.

Parr jabb milneki laale pad gaye; and Evosys told that anybody(any attempt) can submit their CV, this chaos ensued....

and FYI, these guys had already appeared for many interviews , arranged by such job sites which u have mentioned....who were offering absurd profiles to CAs and salary less than 2lcpa....What non-sense.......

Could u share the link of Naukri.com; where this 17lac salary job was advertised?

I too had applied in Naukri; but wasn't informed about such job opening....(was ready to go anywhere in the world).............

And i am not putting any negative thoughts.....I was in that campus placement. I was fortunate to bag the first job interview , i faced......but my friends weren't. They weren't even shortlisted (majority of them). In that case, where will the question of answering basic questions come......People who are jumping right now shouldn't have unrealistic expectations from ICAI campus, as the situation is really bad.....Rest, CCI mein forum  aur FB mein campus placement ke baad ki gaaliyan se pata chalega.

@ Chris:

The problem is not with freshers.......After working hard to pass CA exams and articleship, their wanting to earn sth for their family is understandable.

I have seen people with proper soft skills, also not able to bag jobs in the current situation.........

I think instead of looking for ways to get hired, why don't these people just find ways to create jobs and hire people?

@ sushant: We had not posted any vacancy on the Site, we have the access to this as a recruiter. We can see profiles and shortlist. Its on you to upload your CV and keep it updated. I shared my experience how I faced problems in recruiting people.

One more thing, I am also in middle east but I dont face any problem in travelling anywhere in Middle East. People sitting in India rely on what is shown to them by media. Gulf is one of the best places to work. And I am worried about this mentality of people, who still think Gulf as disturbed region. There are more than 20 countries in gulf, and the problem is in 3. But still the entire gulf is neglected.

As told before, the profile given by that Co at Ahmedabad campus, was that of a nomad (hope, u understand what it is) in which the guy had to be constantly be travelling. It's not as if , u get a job at Dubai; work there for 10 months; get 15 days paid leave to come back home for vacation. U might say, problem may be recurring in only 3 Gulf countries, but do you think fresh CAs would love to risk their lives in a place where they hardly get enough time to adjust their lving (3 months in place X; and now move on to Place Y for project)...............And mind you, u never know unwittingly people might break some religious laws as an outsider and have to face harsh punishments......People are radicalised in those parts apart from few cities.

And, people do keep updatin g the resume.....esp when they don't get job at campus or after that off-campus............My profile was there on that website.....but maybe i was destined to work @ Tata......and i am smiley coz i am nearer to my folks n culture.

@ Sushant:
Sitting there, we can make many comments about the culture of any country... but reality can be seen only if you are in that place. We understand only what is shown by the media. There are 30000 employees in my company, 90% working in middle east. We have not faced any problem till now, (including egypt where the major problem was) My profile includes visiting other countries frequently which includes Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon to name a few and hopefully I will be visiting Libya and Iraq later this year. I dont think there is any problem here otherwise nobody would have worked in this region. At the time of problem in egypt, every employee was given paid holiday and tickets to home country, and the problem does not erupt in one day. None of our employees were injured or harmed in any manner and all of them returned when situation cooled down. Local people have problems with their monarchy, not with us.

I cannot comment on profile given by the company without knowing, but I can tell you that we have many consultants from TCS posted here, half of them are CAs (I think you might be aware that these companies Hire CAs as functional consultants because we are good in implementing control systems in any IT Project), they have been given Hotel Apprtnments with all the facilities including cooks and travelling.

One more thing, which is more important that, it is not right that being in India only, we can follow our culture. The best thing here is that you are not differentiated based on your religion specially in terms of employment. Other things I can't say. I have not seen any person here, who can say that I have been punished because of any silly thing.

Rest is up to you. Whatever impression you want to keep in mind you are most welcome to keep. But I told you what I felt.

Thanks,

Shashank

Bro,

I would request you to please go through my post again. I wasn't talking about FCs from TCS @ Arab....FCs from TCS don't have to travel for short term basis like that other Co, about whom i have told. They go there for a sizeable amount of time....at fixed location, complete the project and come back....whereas in the other case, they go to Place X for say 3 months (as that Co might not have that big client as TCS ) ...come back to renew visa and again to place Y....Travelling is comparatively less in case of TCS.....And employees can trust TCS as it is a part of Tata and its foreign operations have been going on since many decades. TCS is ranked "Best Co to work with" by Business Today in March 2012 issue.

Coming back to main issue............i can still re-assert that the campus placements wont be good for the new entrants as members...Going back by what i experienced  in the preceeding campus.

Some  instances to support it:

1. ITC had vacancies ; even then  they hardly recruited 10 out of 30+ as told in CMII website.

2.
