Quick Summary
If you have unutilised Input Tax Credit (ITC) from FY 2019-20 that was carried forward to FY 2020-21, you generally don't need to take further action if it was correctly reported in your GSTR9 for 2019-20. As long as the credit is available in your online GSTN portal ledger, you can claim it in the subsequent period, provided it meets eligibility criteria. Your GSTR9 should only report availed and utilised ITC for the specific period.

You must have shown this input as carried forward in FY 20-21 in GSTR-9 of 2019-20. If you have done so it justifies your claim of mised input of 2019-20 in FY 20-21.

If the credit has been available in Online Input credit Ledger in your GSTN PORTAL it is enough to avail the same in further period, subject to the eligibility criteria, nothing has to be done.

In GSTR 9 there has to report only availed and utilized ITC for particular period only.

Thank You
