I am filing late gstr3b nil return for August. Is there any penalty ? If yes then is it mandatory to pay penalty with gstr3b filing or can i pay penalty subsequently.

NO PENALTY ON NIL GSTR-3B RETURN
penalty for late return will be applicable irrespective of fact it is nil or not.
Rs. 200 per day late fine is applicable on GSTR3B for August. Suppose you are filing today Rs. 2000 is total penalty. 1000 for CGSt and 1000 for SGST.

You can file return without penalt instead of Late fees showing in Late fees Tab in Case of Nil Return.
