GSTR1 for august

I have one client who had one sale in august
I filed gstr3b and tax to government.
however forgot to file gstr1 for august. now gate 2 or even 1 is not possible.
How can I help my client with this scenario?
please advise I'm totally confused

Don't worry, gstr1 of August not yet started.

but for nil returns July I didn't file gstr1
penalty is there even for nil?
