Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether GSTR 2A can be used for Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation instead of GSTR 2B. It confirms that while GSTR 2B is the preferred method for claiming the 5% provisional ITC under Rule 36(4), reconciliation can technically be done with either 2A or 2B. The key is ensuring the provisional ITC amount is reflected in GSTR 2B. Recommendations for reconciliation software, including Tally, are also provided.

As per rule 36 (4) you can claim 5% as per gstr 2b
5% should be claimed as per 2b
Thank you.

btw - Can you guys can tell a good software for reconciling ?
Dear Pradhish, if you are using Tally then you can also reconcile through it... for this simply download 2A Jason and load in Tally... for further assistance on how to load in Tally you can refer Tally official website !!

Thanks
Dear Shyam ji, thank you

You can reconcile with GSTR-2A or GSTR-2B it does not make much difference. Only thing you need to remember is the 100% value which you are taking to claim the 5% provisional ITC is available in GSTR-2B
