I think ITC will be allowed because the asset is used in furtherance of business. Hence ownership of asset is not a considerable factor.
ITC will be allowed only if your have updated your GSTIN details with service provider and your bill has been uploaded in GSTR2 by him.
What kind of asset you are talking about.
