Need to take GST registration for Goverment department also ???

Actually we are working for some Govt. dept. ... so can i ask them for GST Registration number...

Plz help.

govt dept have many exemptions. plz check in the link. if u r providing services other than that, need to take reg. point 1 is very relevant. plz check others also. https://www.gstsoln.com/latest-gst-list-exempted-goods-services/

further srvices other than as mentined in point 1 7 renting of immovable property.  from govt dept is chargeable under reverse charge to business entity.

I want to know when raising bill to any Govt. Dept.... .is it mandatary to give GST no. in bill???

yes sanjeev, if u r making bill to govt dept, u have to be register ( after 20lakh)  & pay the gst

no its is not mandatory ,if the recipient is register ( any body including govt dept) give their gstn if not, then no need

Can we charge 5% GST  Defence Department, Govt. of India on any item.
