Gratuity payment permissible duing employment

Can a company pay gratuity to its employee  during the period of his employment on yearly basis.
Is there restiction on payment of gratuity before termination of employee.
Can gratuity be paid before complition of 5 years who resign from his job other than reasons given in Gratuity Act 1972?

Gratuity is paid only after employee leaving jon, if any payment made under such nomenclature then it can not be said as gratuity..

 

Company can pay any amount to employees by whatever name but amount paid during the employment can not be termed as gratuity under payment of Gratuity Act and it is fully taxable.

Company can pay Gratuity to leavers before completion of five year of service but again it would be fully taxable.
