After you make this deed on plain paper without any signatures, send it for adjudication of stamp duty to the Registrar/Sub registrar for immovable properties in your area where the property is located. the rates vary from state to state and usually it is the same rate for conveyance of properties. However, if the gift is between close relatives (spouse, parents, children, grandchildren and siblings (not cousins), then the rate is lower in most of the states. Give appropriate evidence and detailsof property like survey number etc. and copy of the previous sale agreement when the property was purchased. This will help the officer assessing stamp duty to djudicate value of stamp required. nce that is done you stamp the agreement and execute it. Present the same for registration within time limit aloowed and pay the registration fee. Ensure that donor and donee are present at the registrar while submitting the deed as both will also have to sign in the register as well as scan their thumb impression and image on web cam.
