FUND FLOW SATEMENT

The One says

Fund Flow Statement is divided into two heads:
1. Sources of Funds & 2. Application of Funds.

Sources include inflow of funds and Application is the outflow of funds.

One may prepare a seperate "Statement of Changes in Working Capital". But this is optional and there is no fixed format. US Based companies prepare Fund Flow Statements in Vertical Form also. (even Horizontal Form is acceptable)

It is distinguished from Cash Flow Statement since cash flow statements show the flow of cash from operating, investing & financing activities. In Fund Flow Statements the only segregation is between the sources and application of funds (even the effects of takeovers, aquisitions, etc are shown)

While preperation of Cash Flow Statements is required by Company Law and AS-3 the preparation of Fund Flow Statement is not. There are no prescribed formats either.

CASH FLOW STATEMENT:

It is just  resembles a cash book rearranged in a format ( operating, investing & financing )to give an useful and segregated information.

FUND FLOW STATEMENT:

It is an statement to show the movement of funds which also includes cash. It may be spelled as Extracts of changes in Balance Sheet.
