Today i got my ipcc form attested by a practising CA . He has written his membership number with only 5 digits . BUT the icai website is saying all membership number must be 6 digits ( u will get this mssg if u search membership database with any number less than 6) . Is it really the case and should I verify the membership number again? PLS REPLY

my principal's membership number is also 5 digit. But it is true. It may be possible that he is old member.So i dont see any worry in this. just confirm the number from member.

Jus add '0' before the 5 digit number and u can find it out.
say 012345.

if the membership number of a member of ICAI is only of 5 digits. U need to add a "0" b4 the membership number to make it a six digit number.

THESE NOS START FROM 01 AND NOW IT REACHES IN LAKHS THATS Y 6 DIGIT NO IS NEEDED
just add zero before the membership no.
