Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the mandatory filing of Form 10IE for salaried individuals opting for the new tax regime under Section 115BAC. While generally mandatory for ITR-3 and ITR-4, for ITR-1 and ITR-2, the option must be selected directly within the tax return itself. There is no specific notification mandating it for all, but the filing portal's design may guide the process.

Is there any notification??

@ Vanamala Phani Kumar There is no notification. But if portal is designed in a particular way, you are not at fault. Law does not compel a person to do something not possible.

Form 10 IE to be filed only for ITR 3 & 4. It is mentioned while filing the form in the portal.
