This is required for making any payment to non resident. Contact any Chartered Accountant who pratices in the this field, he will issue it and you can proceed further.

For remittances like these, Form 15CA and Form 15CB are indeed required. Here's the breakdown:

  1. Form 15CA: This form is to be filed by the remitter (you) to report the remittance details and ensure that TDS is applicable or not.

  2. Form 15CB: This is a Chartered Accountant (CA) certificate that confirms the TDS calculation and provides tax compliance verification related to the remittance.

If the payment is for legal services provided by a firm in Canada, TDS might be applicable under Section 195 (since it's a payment to a foreign service provider). The CA will assess the transaction and issue Form 15CB after verifying the tax details.

The charges for issuing Form 15CB can vary depending on the CA's fees. Generally, the fee for issuing Form 15CB ranges between ₹1000 - ₹3000 (or more) depending on the complexity of the remittance and the CA's practice.

You can also use our Excel-based utility to generate Form 15CA and 15CB XML in bulk easily and accurately. This might save you time if you need to file multiple forms in the future.
