First return under mvat

I obtained voluntary registration in the month of March. My first return would be from Jan-2016 to March-2016.  However, I have closing stock of branch transfer which was procured during non-registered period. Since, it was not an compulsary to obtain registration, i didnt obtain registration. 

I want to know if I have to disclose this stock in my first return for the period Jan-2016 to March-2016.

My MVAT R.C effictive date is 4 July 2016 than what is 1st Return period please conform me.
