Quick Summary
A business owner closed their company on 31.03.2019 but failed to inform the GST department, leading to a notice for non-filing of returns. The user is seeking advice on how to resolve this without incurring late fees. The advice given suggests cancelling the GST registration and filing a final return (GSTR-10) to officially notify the department of the business closure. If no transactions occurred, filing nil returns until cancellation is also an option.
Did you file cancellation of of gst and if yes then after getting the cancellation order did you fill the annual return or say your final return with in the due date?
If you closed the business and no intention of doing it then you have to cancelled your GST as well as file GSTR10 so that the department know that you stop the business otherwise you have to file your gst the way you filing earlier file nil return till now if you made no purchase and sales transaction then cancel your registration after receiving cancel order in protal GSTR10 due date will appear then file with in that date .
