Filing return u/s 139(9)

Hi,
I have filed my Income tax return for AY 2013-14 ON 28TH September 2013, the due date for the same was 31st July. Thus it was a belated return. I have entered my interest income as 88600, instead of correct amount 58600. The above was a plain typing error. But in haste I validated the return and tax payable is shown as 3460 in ITR V. This goof up I noticed only on opening the ITR-V for printing purpose. The above return was signed by a digital signature.

Now, I have received a Notice from CPC to pay taxes and file corrected return u/s 139(9). Notice has a CPC reference number, but I could not rectify the return as the CPC number entered  is shown to be "INVALID". Now  Can I file a new return u/s 139(9) by putting the correct income of 58600 without paying any taxes?

Kindly suggest.

Sir,

If you can not file the said return then your liability would be raised to pay excess income tax, so that you have to file return said section or paid the said tax which is asked the department with you.
