Please let me know the following cases whether assessee can be fined if ITR filed after 31.07.17:
1. Where total income after deduction is below 2.5 Lakhs;
2. Where total income is 2.5 lakhs;

In both case Rs. 1000/-
After July 31, then you would have to pay a late fee of upto Rs 10,000. However, if your income is below taxable limit then you won't have to pay it even if you file after the deadline.
Then I would not have to pay the late fee filed after 31.07.17, if my total income is below the taxable limit of 2.5 lakhs?
